Hey guys,
I hope Mike's hand is healing ok. I bet that hurt :o/
I went on a road trip to Ohio then Nashville this week. I rode I-90 all the way through your state. I never realized how beautiful NY is. Beuatiful, but LONG. Your music helped me get through a good piece of it and Ohio. I went to the Opry while I was in Nashville. Your cd was for sale in the bin. I got excited just seeing it there! See y'all next month! ~Paula

Hi from your friends in Canada
We just got the new CD last week. Went for a road trip for a few days last week - that's when you can really listen to the music. Really enjoy it as we have all of your music since we "discovered" you at Thomas Point Beach in 2006.

You may not remember our names but we also took in all three of your shows at Saranac Lake First Night a year ago, then talked to you again at Thomas Point last year. You guys were awesome at that festival. The closing set was amazing. Your music on Cd's is great but seeing you perform live adds an exciting element.

We are excited now about seeing you on July 26 in Fort Fairfield, ME. which is about a two hour drive from our cottage in New Brunswick - much closer that the drive we had to Saranac Lake! You know what fanatics Bluegrass fans can be. Anyway, hope to get a chance to talk to you there. Maybe I will send you another e-mail as that date gets closer. We will also see you at Thomas Point again in Sept.

Your fans from New Brunswick

We're big fans and have all your CD's. We love every one, but the latest release is AMAZING. The tunes won't leave us alone until we've played them over and over each day. Thought you might like to know you've inspired us to learn everything we can about bluegrass and how much we're enjoying a fuller appreciation of what the band's talents represent. So far, we've only been able to see you perform live one time (last summer in Hayward). We have a trip to Bean Blossom planned for fall but will also continue to watch your schedule in the event that Mike had good luck fishing last year and is eager to return to Wisconsin. There must be a way around the Chicago traffic!!!

Hi guys! I figured I might lose my standing a one of your biggest VT fans if I didn't explain my absence at your recent CD release concerts. No less of a fan, I assure you, I just decided to have a stroke on 4/7/08. (yes, I'm roughly your age, 38.)
Just 2 weeks after I can make some light of it since it appears a full recovery will follow with occupational therapy. Luckily I did not have lasting physical effects.
I was not very good at my banjo yet but I'm still not happy about the set back just the same.
Rest assured we'll be on festival tour by Strawberry park so don't take me/us off the f

Eric,
Thanks for mentioning Ted Lehmann's blog in your journal entry. I went and read all his posts on your trip down south. Very interesting reading. It was great to learn all that info on the Tennessee area and what your performances were like. Ted is writes wonderfully and his descriptive, honest style was a joy to read. If Ted reads this, thanks for the updates for those of us who weren't there to experience it.

I agree, Mike should be "Bass Player of the Year". He has a lot of fans. I sat next to a woman at the Plattsburgh show who said she got to shake Mike's hand and would "never wash her hand again". Now that is a fan!
Congrats on debuting at #5.

The best work you've ever done. Iron and Diamonds has the best writing, best harmony and the instrumentals were right on. Especially enjoyed hearing Junior in there. The gospel piece with Erin was superb. The three of you in harmony is fantastic.

I know I just left a comment a couple days ago, but I just had to tell you this story: I driving around town on a gloriously beautiful day. I had the windows rolled down, and "Iron & Diamonds" cranked on my cd player. I stopped at a red light and "Lonely Me, Lonely You" was playing. In the car beside me was a man just whistling right along! In hindsight I wish I had popped the cd out and handed it to him (I couldn't bear to part with it, though). I think you would have had one more added to the GB fold if I had :o)
You're right. Mike should win!

Sold my old vehicle, XM included. After 2 months I just installed an XM radio in the new truck and the first thing I heard on the demo channel was a portion of an interview with you guys. Once activated I heard a cut from your new album (that I soon will have). Hope to see you in WV soon. Always a fan of yours, you have a special sound. Keep up the good work.

Hi, guys I picked up the new CD the other day at Borders in Concord, NH. Great job as usual! I spent Sunday afternoon starting my tomato seeds listening to Iron and Diamonds. Great way to spend a day. I hope the fruits of my labor will turn out as good as yours!
I really like the Iron and Diamonds song about the miners and their Sunday ballgame. I like the Julie Miller song and it sounded real familiar. I had seen Buddy & Julie Miller do that on a PBS show that was hosted by Emmylou Harris. Keep up the great work and I hope to see you in Lebanon, NH in June. Will try to bring some of my family to the show.
Take care and safe traveling on the bluegrass trail. Jim Hebert
