The Facts:

The Gibson Brothers won IBMA's 2012 Entertainer of the Year Award and the 2012 Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year award for “Singing As We Rise.”  The Gibson Brothers are widely recognized as the finest brother duet in bluegrass music today, evidenced by their being named IBMA’s 2011 Vocal Group of the Year.  It was the first time a brother duet won that award.   They also won the 2011 Album of the Year for HELP MY BROTHER. It was also named the 2011 Album of the Year by PopMatters. These honors follow two 2010 IBMA awards for Song of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year for "Ring the Bell."  Their 2013 release on Compass Records is THEY CALLED IT MUSIC.

The Buzz:

“The Gibson Brothers lead a bluegrass quintet that can pull off traditional Bill Monroe-style picking and sweet, Louvin Brothers-like harmony singing.”                                                                                             The Washington Post

"…when I hear someone like the Gibson Brothers, I know it’s them from the first note. They have that little thing in their voices that no one else has…"                                                                                      Del McCoury, Washington Post

"The brothers and the band have it all: lead vocals, brother-duet harmony, instrumental virtuosity, ensemble sensibilities, and great original material.”                                                                                              Bluegrass Unlimited

"Perseverance, devotion to quality songwriting and recording, and a delightful stage show earned them Entertainer of the Year honors in September."                                                                                                 Charlotte News & Observer

"…the Gibson’s real strength lies in their stunning vocal harmonies…they sing gospel and honky-tonk with equal fervor"                                                                                                                                                     Times Union, Albany, NY

"The Gibson Brothers have been upholding the legacy of brother acts in bluegrass for a couple of decades now, marrying their classic hand-in-glove high lonesome harmonies to a musical combination that finds room for both traditionalism and fearless forays beyond it."                                                                          Stuart Munro,  boston.com

"The chance to hear their combination of extraordinary vocals and instrumental firepower should not be missed...."                                                                                                                                                                The Pulse, Chattanooga,TN

“The Gibson Brothers have captured the market in the classic sibling harmony duo sound that made the 1930s and 40s so important to country music. …hear them sing live with their five piece band. It’s a jolt of deep tradition, made fresh through their insightful and enthralling songwriting.”                       Craig Havighurst,   Music City Roots

"I have such a renewed respect and admiration for upstate New York’s Gibson Brothers, who join the Stanleys, the Louvins and the Everlys in the firmament of the music’s most compelling brother acts with solid songwriting and a vise-like grip on harmony as it should be sung."                                                               Tim Timberlake,  Music Journal

"From the outset, the Gibson Brothers have made a dramatic mark not only with their heartfelt sibling harmonies, but also with their exquisitely crafted, evocative original songs."                                                                              Bluegrass Unlimited

"Bluegrass music has a long, rich history of brother duos. Eric and Leigh Gibson may be one of the newer links in that chain, but their harmonies are some of the best you’ll find in bluegrass–or any genre."            Engine145.com

"...the Gibsons will be remembered as one of the best brother duos this side of Ralph and Carter Stanley, with Eric and Leigh mentioned in the same breath as Charlie and Ira, Bobby and Sonny, Jim and Jesse."     Bluegrass Today
