"...when I hear someone like the Gibson Brothers, I know it’s them from the first note. They have that little thing in their voices that no one else has..." — Del McCoury

"The Gibson Brothers are now bluegrass superstars who have won numerous International Bluegrass Music Awards, including entertainer of the year, song of the year and album of the year." - The New York Times

While they're widely recognized as vanguards of today's Bluegrass scene, The Gibson Brothers' dynamic show doesn't limit itself to quick-pickin' traditionalism.  Instead, brothers Eric and Leigh charm audiences with their brother-banter, ringing harmonies and a stunning sampling of other favorite American musical styles including Gospel, Classic Country, Folk, and Singer Songwriter traditions.   While their obvious versatility as musicians, lovable charisma, and prowess as entertainers has garnered them a place at the helm of the Traditional Music scene, it's their back-porch ease and All-American authenticity that makes any audience feel like old friends.

A story without parallel; born on the family dairy farm in Ellenburg Depot, a tiny town in northern New York that was closer to the Canadian border than it was to a record store.  Working hard by day, and listening to the radio by night, they grew up more like how Bill Monroe or Woody Guthrie grew up than their peers today.

Listening to not only the Grand Ole Opry, but any station they could pick up north of the border, informed a unique style and storytelling ability that sets them apart from the pack. Their award winning original songs are peppered with a variety of covers ranging from Buck Owens to Tom Petty – forming a unique style that honors tradition while still sounding refreshingly new.

The International Bluegrass Music Association has bestowed eleven awards on the Gibsons, including two consecutive “Entertainer of the Year”, and recently acknowledged them as the first band in the chart’s history to reach the top spot over eight consecutive albums.

Because their show encompasses so many elements, The Gibson Brothers present a unique ability to appeal to audiences specifically based on their proven genre leanings.  Below, see different assets you can use to tailor your marketing strategy based on your series goals, or audience taste:

Folk

Folk music in overdrive. Esquire '59

Classic Country

There's nothing quite like the depth and breadth of the brother duets that are woven throughout the tapestry of country music from the 1920s to modern times. The Gibson’s roots are in early country music: Don Williams, Don Gibson, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and the other honky-tonk greats who capture the excitement of their music on their recordings.

Singer Songwriter

Ultimately The Gibsons prove that they aren’t just brilliant songwriters, but also great interpreters of others’ songs. Consistently writing and recording high-quality material. It’s no wonder they top the charts.  They move people. The IBMA Songwriter of the Year was presented to Eric Gibson in 2013.

Gospel

Their music is based on a brother duet tradition that predates Bluegrass music, that brought a close harmony singing style common in simple country churches into the homes of millions on records and on the radio.

Gospel music has always been a huge part of the Bluegrass repertoire, and as you will hear in the tracks below, the Gibson Brothers' vocals put their Gospel renditions in a class of their own.
